Christmas gifts for wife: why a sentimental blanket works
Jewelry gets worn on special nights. A blanket gets used on a Tuesday, which is the point. We think a sentimental gift lands best when she meets it in ordinary moments: under it on the couch after the kids are asleep, or wrapped in it with coffee on a cold Saturday. Every time she pulls it over her knees, the words are there.

That is a lot of feeling on one throw. Some wives will love every line and read them out loud. Others are more private, and for them a living-room blanket that announces "My Soulmate" to every visitor might feel like too much. You know which one you married. If you are unsure, picture her face when your mother sees it on the sofa. If she would laugh, buy it. If she would wince, go plain and write the words in a card instead. Either choice is fine.
Merlot Red or Purple?
Same words, same fleece. The red is a deep wine color that sits well with brown leather, wood and cream walls. The purple is brighter and reads as more playful. We would pick by the room it will live in, not by her favorite color, because a blanket ends up being part of the furniture.
